Terms of Use
SIT (Stuff I Like.) at sit.onl is run by Doomed Productions Ltd, registered in England and Wales, company number 16983542, registered office 71โ75 Shelton Street, Covent Garden, London WC2H 9JQ ("we", "us"). Questions: support@sit.onl.
1. About SIT
SIT helps you save things you like from anywhere, organise them into lists, share the lists you choose, get the alerts you ask for, and help friends and family avoid buying the wrong gift. SIT is not the seller of anything you save.
2. Who can use SIT
You must be 18 or over to create an account. Adults can use their own account to save gifts for children.
3. Your account
Keep your login secure, and tell us at support@sit.onl if you think someone else has used it. Keep your email address current: it is how we reach you about your account and the alerts you ask for.
4. Saving things
You can save products, services, experiences, web pages and things you type in yourself. SIT tries to fill in details such as the name, picture, price and stock automatically. That can be incomplete or wrong, so check anything that matters (model, size, colour, price) before you rely on it. What you type in yourself is yours: a later price check never overwrites your edits or notes.
5. Who sees your lists
Everything you save is private to you unless you put it on a list and share that list. New lists start Private. You can make a list Private, Friends & Family (only the groups and people you choose) or Public (anyone with the link). You are responsible for what you choose to make public. Copies made outside SIT, for example screenshots, can last after you change a list back.
6. Groups and invitations
Invitations let someone see the lists you choose to share with them. Don't use invitations for spam, harassment or marketing.
7. Gift reservations
Reserving a gift is a way of telling other people "I've got this covered". It does not hold stock at a shop, create a contract to buy, or guarantee that the person will buy it. To keep the surprise, the list owner is not shown what has been reserved, who reserved it, or whether it was bought.
8. Prices, stock and alerts
Information from shops can be late, missing or wrong, and some shops don't let SIT check them at all. Price and stock alerts are a convenience, not a promise about price, stock, delivery or the shop. Always confirm the details with the shop before you buy.
9. The SIT button (browser extension)
The SIT button reads the product details of a page when you click it. If you allow it, it also checks the prices of things you've saved at the shops you approve, while your browser is open. You can remove that permission, or the extension, at any time.
10. Shops
When you leave SIT for a shop, that shop's terms and privacy policy apply, and any purchase is between you and the shop. We are not responsible for a shop's products, delivery, returns, warranties or customer service. Your statutory rights are not affected.
11. Links that earn us money
SIT does not use affiliate or advertising links today. If we start, we will label them clearly before you click, and a commercial arrangement will never replace the exact thing you saved with something else.
12. Your content
You own what you create on SIT. You give us a limited, non-exclusive licence to store, process, display and send it only as needed to run, secure and improve SIT and to apply your sharing choices. Public lists can be shown publicly until you change them, subject to short-lived caching. Only save or upload things you have the right to.
13. Acceptable use
Don't use SIT illegally; infringe other people's rights; upload malicious code; get around access controls; overload or harmfully scrape the service; harass, threaten or expose other people; send misleading invitations; or pretend to be someone else. We may remove content or limit access where reasonably necessary to protect people or the service.
14. Our name and software
The SIT name, brand, software and our own materials belong to Doomed Productions Ltd or its licensors.
15. Changes to the service
Services on the internet sometimes fail, and we may improve, change or stop features. SIT is free; there are no paid plans. Before we ever charge for anything, we will set out the price, renewal and cancellation terms clearly and ask you to agree to them.
16. Ending your account
You can stop using SIT and delete your account at any time in Settings. We may suspend or close an account for serious or repeated breaches of these Terms, fraud or security risk, legal reasons, or harmful misuse. Where appropriate we will explain why and give you a way to challenge it.
17. Our responsibility to you
If we break these Terms, we are responsible for loss you suffer that was a foreseeable result. Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot legally be limited, including for fraud, or for death or personal injury caused by negligence. SIT is for personal use, and we are not responsible for the quality or delivery of goods sold by other businesses.
18. Your consumer rights
These Terms do not reduce your legal rights as a consumer. If anything here conflicts with mandatory law, the law wins.
19. Complaints
Email support@sit.onl. For anything about your personal data, email privacy@sit.onl.
20. Which law applies
These Terms are governed by the law of England and Wales. If you live in Scotland or Northern Ireland, you can also bring a claim in your local courts, and the mandatory consumer protections of where you live still apply.
21. Changes to these Terms
We will give you reasonable notice of important changes. We won't use a change to take away your legal rights or to add unfair obligations retrospectively.
